PostSubject: A New Beginning....   Fri May 13, 2011 11:23 am

What is Immortality? It is a question that has been asked time and time again.

It is set in legend. Kept in the present. Tomorrow will be our legend. Over the most daunting mountains humans can come across, to the ends of the earth, lies a hidden plain, long and vast, as deadly as it is beautiful. This plain towards its edges has a forest, to be called home by a unique pack of Wolves. It lies dormant, biding its time and awaiting the moment that it shall become home to some who posses the most powerful gene. That is one of Immortality.

A Lone Black Wolf has remained guard over these lands, defending them from other packs that seek out its beauty. He is as dark as the night and as bright as the day, a fearless, merciless wolf. An Immortal more importantly. Written in Legend it is told that three equals would join him, each possessing a value as the Gods did before them.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The summer brought its blistering heat, most of the animals that lay abundant made their ways to theforest, as they always had. It stoned heavily down, and only a few days into summer had killed most of the long grass already. The plains where only broken by one single tree which lay to the centre, providing the cool shade. The tree oblivious to the heat, and the long grass swayed lightly in a warm breeze. The weather was putrid this time of day.
The Lone Black Wolf lay under the tree, his chest rising and falling sharply. He was asleep yet panting, his black coat not coping well with the heat. He was waiting for the day to be joined by the three equals, as he had done the same for the past forty odd years…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Today though, would be the day. It would be the most powerful day where four Immortals would join forces to create and lead a Pack, together as one. The first of the three had finally arrived. Although he was unable to be seen, the Black Guardian had sensed it. He rose to his haunches and sat on the lookout, though he wouldn’t see much through the long dead grass.

A cream tanned wolf had trod forth; he wondered what had brought him to this land. His pelt camouflaged him through his ventures through the forest of grass. He was a bit unsure as to who owned this land; but was sure to find out if anyone did.

It wasn’t long before the land was invaded by a second wolf; She trudged on with purpose and seemed to have a fire burning inside her. She seemed to want answers; though had no idea of where she was. All she knew is that she was far fitter and better off than anyone else her age.

The black Guardian of the lands flicked his head in the opposite direction sensing the second wolf was around. He walked up and stood on a flattish rock able to see the land. He spotted the trails of the two wolves he had sensed and drew his attention to a third and forth line starting to appear. One smaller than the other.

The Silver Fae walked through the grass, along side her, her companion and pup. She knew she was immortal, and was for some reason drawn to this place. She looked to her pup beside her and smiled happily, hoping that the pair would finally have a home. She could sense others near by and wondered whether they where a pack or not.

The female wove her way through the tall, brittle stalks of grass, scowling as the yellowing strands brushed her alabaster face and coat whilst crunching beneath her white paws. Her fiery eyes scanned the little she could see above the looming tips of grass, spying only a dappling of a green against the blinding blanket of cobalt blue sky - an indication of a tree. She veered her direction a little to the left to make sure she came across the tree in hopes that it may provide some shelter from the blistering sun.

In her desperate attempt to escape the heat, the white fae's keen senses almost missed the crucial signs that suggested the presence of other wolves and she was only a few paces away until the strong scent of an unknown canine washed over her, carried by the hot breeze. Her muscles growing taut almost instantly and her eyes appearing to burn as fiercly as the sun, the she-wolf looked around warily, ears pricked and senses alert. Now aware of the presence of others, she knew they must know she was there too and her brow deepened into a small frown as she mentally scolded herself for not being more vigilant.

The female paused as she caught sight of a black shadow through the grass not far from where she stood and cocked her head to the side, deciding to remain silent until noticed~

Charity walked along in this new land. It was foreign to her, not having come across this place in her years of travel. Would this place be where she could raise her pup in peace? The land she would call home for the rest of her life? She certainly hoped so. The land was void of large trees and the grass had taken a golden hue. There didn't seem to be much around. Not any birds, nor many small creatures. The light creamy coloured female smiled, realising that not many animals would stick around at the noise her daughter was making.

Nakia slunk through the grass. The dark grey tip of her tail standing straight. Her brown furred ears pricked as she hunted her prey. "... And the mighty she-wolf stalks her prey, silent like clouds. She moves through the grass her prey still unaware of her movements. Her light blue orbs focused on that which she was seeking." Nakia narrated. Quickly the pup jumped up onto a rock and let out a howl. Pouncing down she landed on a leaf. "And once again the mighty hunter has triumphed again!" she barked happily.

Suddenly Charity stopped short, her ears flicking. The presence of other wolves alarmed her and she moved to stand protectively over Nakia, receiving confused looks from the pup. "Don't make a sound, Nakia," she whispered. A dark shadow caught her eye. She certainly hoped they hadn't wandered on to a packs land.

Obsidian lay on 'his' rock, a smile filling his gaunt, well chiselled face. His brows relaxed, revealing a friendly welcoming expression, he continued to pant, it gently cradled his body back and forth. The Guardian's silhouette showed very little and mostly his outline with his pink tongue, lolling out his mouth. He perked his ears to the shuffling through the grass; in two directions before both seeming to halt. The males sides twitched and he got to his haunches, now sitting on 'his' rock.

"Come forth my Friends, Don't be shy; You are Welcomed in these Lands," he spoke softly but loud enough for them to hear him. His voice was calm and collected, speaking with some eccentric character about him. His tail brushed the smooth rock under him; wagging in a friendly fashion. He was sitting proud with his chest puffed out; excited that the day had finally come after so many years.

His lemony eyes darted between the two spots as he awaited movement. He could smell the distinct fragrance of the Mother and Pup to his right and another female to his left. Obsidian smoothed his paws over the rock feeling its gravelly sensation; moving the blood flow to his paw pads.

The white female's ears flicked as she heard the voice belonging to the silhouette and another scowl crossed her jaws at his words - as if she, of all wolves, would be shy. With a roll of her eyes she straightened her stance until she stood tall and proud and her muscles relaxed with a well practised shake of her fur. Unsure of what she would encounter, the she-wolf padded forwards until only a few stranded stalks of grass separated her from the now clearly visible black wolf. She watched him for a moment, taking in every inch of his outstandingly black fur and friendly stance as she sized him up. She guessed that he was a bit over three or so, though there was a strange sense of experience and wisdom behind his lemon coloured orbs that made him seem older, almost intimidating, though she didn't let that fracture her appearance.

Plastering a confident smirk on her jaws and with a fire burning deep in her eyes, the fae stepped out towards the onyx wolf whom she assumed younger than herself.

"You really should be more careful of who you call your friends," the female commented in a silky smooth voice, though beneath its honey-like texture there was an obvious, almost mocking threat. Raising a brow she almost seemed to dare him to react to it, knowing for sure that even though she was going onto her eigth summer, she could beat the younger male with ease, for strangely enough she had found that she had barely aged and, if anything, had grown stronger.

A change of the wind direction brought the scent of a female and pup to the white fae and she inwardly cringed with the assumption that she had wandered onto pack territory. She did not care to glance in the direction of the scent, smart enough not to give any of her unease away and a liar well practised enough to keep up her fearless appearance.

With the threat of her last remark still lingering in the air, the firey eyed fae continued to watch the male, curious of his reaction~

Charity became a little fearful as she heard a voice. Her ears flicked undecided as to whether she should answer. Uncertainty plagued her, might she have been alone she would have stepped forward without hesitation. However she was very conscious of her pup. Her little one that required protection. For a while she stood, unmoving. Finally she took a step forward. Lowering her head she nudged Nakia, bringing a smile to the pup's face. Striding forward she saw a male and a female wolf. The male, his coat like the black rocks from the earth. The female, a cream like the snow in the winter. Charity made sure to keep herself between Nakia and them, though it wasn't easy with a curious pup.

Nakia sat down with her ears sticking out as her mother stood over her. The look on her face plainly said bored. She let out a little huff of impatience, she hated the way her mother was so protective. Gee can't she chill for just a moment. The male's voice brought up a whole new bound of excitement for the pup. There was someone there! Maybe even another pup to play with! Standing Nakia waited, hopeful that her mother wouldn't pick her up and run off. Charity's nudge caused excitement to flow through the brown pup's veins, her tail wagging quickly. She bounded forward between her mother's white legs. Always she was stopped from getting two close to the wolves she could just see through the long grass. There was something about them. They weren't like other wolves she and her mother had met. They felt far more like her parents. She wondered at this. "Are you guys special too?" she asked in her curious pup way.

Obsidian felt the weight lift off of his Shoulders when he saw the first of the Immortals appear. After forty long years he was finally free of having to guard this territory alone! The onyx male leapt down from his rock to greet her. She seemed to be a fiery Fae, and his thoughts were confirmed when she spoke "You really should be more careful of who you call your friends," He smiled simply, it was obvious to him that this Fae didn't know what she was, it was clear that she was still young for an immortal. That could be told alone by the way that she spoke. The silhouetted male guessed about seven or eight years old. He grinned ear to ear at her naivety and gave a simple reply "Well, Well, you really don't know what you are do you kiddo?" he jumped around a little full of excitement, continuously fidgeting. He strode about back and forth awaiting a reply, pausing mid step hearing the second of the Immortals appear from the grass.

It was a creamy silvery Fae, accompanied by a small pup, curious as the best of them.
"Are you guys special too?" The inked Male walk gracefully to the pup, lowering his head swiftly and a black bushy tail swaying behind him. Obsidian was always fascinated by pups, the delicateness, their cramped and immature bodices. "Why yes young one, we are all 'special' here and you will be too one day" The brute lifted his skull and looked to the creamy white mother flashing a friendly smile, giving a grunt as if judging her. With an elegant move he pivoted around capering back to the fiery female still awaiting an answer from her.

The beginnings of a snarl appeared on the white fae's lips as she glared at the raven-coloured male, absolutely outraged by his comment. How dare he call me kiddo?! she thought furiously, her tail flicking behind her in annoyance as he pranced around, seeming incapable of standing still. Before she could retort with venomous sarcasm, however, a thought crossed her mind as she recalled his words "You really don't know what you are, do you". For some reason this comment made her uneasy and was the only thing that made her hold her tongue as she wondered what he knew that she didn't.

Her ears perked up as she saw a female and her pup walk cautiously past the grass and into view and her paws shuffled uneasily in the earth. To say she was uncomfortable around pups was a slight understatement for she had very little experience around them and even though she was eight years of age, she had never had her own. To her they always seemed so small and breakable and she always felt awkward in their presence. She listened carefully to the words exchanged between the onyx male and the small pup, but it only managed to confuse her further and by the time the brute had returned his gaze to hers for an answer, she was speechless. That didn't last long though.

"I know very well what I am, though why it is important to you is what I am more concerned about," she snapped, glaring at him with no less than hostility despite the fact that her words were no more than a perfectly performed lie. Casting a quick, less aggressive glance towards the mother and her pup, the female awaited her answer~

The Charcoaled male sat stubbornly and yawned boredly as he studied that Fae's face. She appeared to be frustrated in his opinion, he watched and grinned as the snarl formed on her face, darting to her side and studying closely her expressions and more specifically her mandible. He had become right up in her face his tail lashing curiously about behind him. He saw the fiery Fae's disposition change from proud to uneasy as the onyx male retreated to his original spot, sitting lightly on his haunches once more.

"I know very well what I am, though why it is important to you is what I am more concerned about,"He beamed and cackled, jumping to his paws with laughter, before clearing his throat and becoming serious. His black form shifted till he became nose to nose with her, his eyes serious "Now, now My young one, we both know that you are lying, but if I am mistaken, tell me what you are then eh?" Obsidian taunted her. His ears perked and his physique dangerously close to the fiery female. He however remained calm, collected and couldn't care less if she tried to attack him. After all in these past forty years he came across everything possible life could throw at him.

She froze as the brute came within a hair's breadth of her and her breath caught in her throat at the sudden closeness - she had not been around wolves for such a long time and to all of a sudden be so close to one almost frightened her. Almost. She fought every instinct in her body to retreat from the closeness as she met his gaze with all the fierceness she could muster.

"I am what I am," she hissed, seething at the thought of the way he talked down to her, "and part of what I am is a loner, so excuse me whilst I leave."

With that excuse to escape the sudden close proximity to other wolves, the white fae brushed past the other male and walking determinedly back towards the grass with her head held high. She pushed all questions about what he'd asked to the back of her mind, convincing herself that he had just gone a little strange from the heat, and she gave an ever so slight nod to the mother and her pup as she passed; she may have been proud, but she tried not to think of herself as rude.

"One more thing,"the alabaster wolf added as she reached the grass-line and turned back to face the other canid, "Don't judge me. You may claim to know  'what' I am, but you have no idea 'who' I am- you don't even know my name."

With that last, harsh comment, the fae stepped from the line of shade and back into the blistering heat~

Obsidian laughed, mocking the Alabaster wolf. She seemed to know what she was but really had no clue what-so-ever. He watched her determination as she trod back towards the long grass and he questioned her "Do you really want to go back out into that heat, young one. For your age you still have a lot to learn"

He grew tired of his previous games. His black silhouette moved into the shade, allowing his expressions to be seen, he sat and listened to the wolf's blabbering. Little did she know that he was silently studying her for the signs that he was given by his elders, and what he would find. This was definitely the defiant, proud one. After forty years it was hard to recall the names he was told. He looked to the sky thinking; and not listening to the white Fae's words 'alisha... no, alexia... no, um.. what was it!? Ay... Ayla! thats it!' He thought briefly and was able to recall the names he had been given by his superiors.

The onyx wolf shifted about and watched as Ayla, as she was now known, step back out into the blistering heat. He had shrugged off her crude comment, and watched her coolly before deciding to speak up as she turned away.
"Ayla, That is your name right? Tell me, What is it that your... what seven eight years old, and don't look a day above three, and tell me, what is it about the gradual getting stronger and watching wolves your age simply wither and die, yet you do not. So tell me.. Do you know what you truly are?" By now Obsidian was genuinely concerned about this Immortal, he would have to teach her everything that comes with it. It would have to be the case after all, Obsidian could never take a trick to save himself.

The Male stretched out his long limbs and awaited a reply from the Alabaster femme. His black cape moving out into the sunlight, becoming instantly gleaming. Oh how he wished that he wouldn't have to deal with such problems now, of all times.

The white wolf, who had just been named Ayla, paused mid-step at the words of the other wolf and she flicked her ears in an uncomfortable manner; she hadn't heard her name spoken out loud for such a long time. As she stopped the sun's violent rays seemed to burn into her fur and to her skin, a feeling not enjoyed by a wolf more at home in snow and she shifted under the heavy heat. After a long moment, Ayla turned her head to meet the black wolf's eyes with a firey glare and she studied him once over, trying to determine what sort of stories the black wolf would come up with. She looked back over to the mother and curious pup, now beginning to doubt that they were a pack for they had remained almost silent as the female protectively guarded her child.

Itching to escape the heat, Ayla padded slowly back towards the shade, trying to convince herself that the shade was the only reason she was going back and that she wouldn't listen to whatever he had to say. When she reached the cover of the tree, enjoying the sudden coolness that washed over her, she lowered her front half as she extended her forelegs, stretching her lean muscles as she did so and letting out a yawn. Pulling herself back into a sitting position, she returned her gaze to the onyx canid.

"So, what do you think I am then? You perhaps know the basics of my life, but surprise surprise, I'm not skin deep. So 'what' am I then? And tell me your name so I have something to call you," Ayla drawled, though there was a dangerous tone beneath her voice; she was tired of this back and forth and growing impatient.

Her claws extended and dug into the earth at her paws, and she raked them back to leave shallow scores in the earth before repeating the same action several times in a rhythmic fashion. Discomfort melded itself into her muscles at the closeness of other wolves and she desperately wanted to run to feel her legs stretch and the wind in her face. Mentally shaking herself, Ayla lifted her piercing firey gaze to the black wolf's as she awaited his answer.

The dark male's ears perked intently as he watched the alabaster pause mid step. From then on he knew he was in control; knowing that he had caught her out, and she was simply his student. He knew that he would have to teach her the ways of Immortality, and most likely upon the first knowledge of it that it would be rejected. He sighed deeply and sat; becoming more relaxed by the second. Thinking over how he would tell this wolf that she was to live forever, not being able to die of old age.

He studied her as she rhythmically scored her paws into the ground. He looked at each of his paws, eyes darting between them, still thinking of a way to tell her. Obsidian's head bear aloft as he pored over the fiery eyes of the young Immortal.
"I know that you will most likely reject what I say, and question whether I am sane; I assure you that I am..." He paused and cleared his throat for the second part of his answer "You are an Immortal my child, and if you disregard this, then answer my question; How old do you think I am?" He was certain that she wouldn't guess that he was 46 years old, and still young for an Immortal such as the wolves that surrounded him.

He resumed a stance, his bulky bodice swaying back and forth with the breeze, however remaining to look forever stable. The onyx male scanned her eyes and profile, awaiting the answer and her outrage. It would suddenly occur to her as to why all her friends became decrepit and she remained forever trapped in her current body. One does grow use to it.

Charity growled lowly as the black male came closer to her daughter. His friendly smile not enough for her. She did realise that they were also Immortals, though from the female's words it seemed she had no concept of such. The black brute did seem to know the female's name: Ayla. It sure was a pretty name for such a sharp tongued wolf. It seemed as if the two had only just met, however, and Charity wondered how the male could have know the name of the other, much less that they were Immortal. She pondered his latest question for a moment. Though it was directed at the other female she could help taking a guess. Carefully looking over the male, he looked to be only three but the light in his eyes held great wisdom. He was certainly older than her own twelve years of life. "I'd say your at least thirty," she guessed.

Nakia looked up at the black male who approached her. Her tail wagged excitedly as she had been correct. As the white female and black male continued to talk she became bored. Sitting down her ears jutted out. These wolves were boring all they did was talk. Rolling her eyes as the female walked away and then back. Getting up she trotted over to the female, Ayla. "You sure seem to be acting strange," Nakia barked bluntly, her nose wrinkled in disgust.

The young wolf silently trudged through the scorching heat. Her paws ached and burned not only from the un-nourished earth below but also from the long journey that she has traveled to arrive here. The only slightest sound that was heard from her was her short breaths from whenever she stopped to gaze about her surroundings. She parted her jaws, revealing gleaming white fangs and a salmon pink tongue that constantly lolled out then rolled back in as she continued on her way. The dried up tall grass scraped against her as she passed through with ease but felt small amounts cling to the tips of her beautifully mixed brown coat.
Her velvety soft ears perked and swerved to the fairly close commotion of others nearby and spotted a few figure off near the sanctuary of a shaded tree. The only tree within miles it seemed. She had the urge to go over to bask in the cool shade as well but kept at a safe distance, cautiously approaching and studying each wolf as she inched closer before stopping so as not to intrude on them, sensing an unease tension between the wolves.

Ayla's eyes narrowed at the words of the charcoaled male, her ears flicking in annoyance - she absolutely hated the way he talked down to her. She observed him warily, for once careful to keep her mouth shut as he tried to explain what she was and the corner of her mouth curled in amusement. His question, however, threw her off guard and she was once again at a loss for words. She was not well practiced at guessing another's age because the only wolves she was ever near usually turned out to be quick enemies, Logan being one of the few wolves she had ever grown close to as her friends were few and far between.

Her ears perked at the other female's answer and it surprised her, making her feel less old and she suddenly thought that perhaps the few wolves she had ever met at her age were sickly and that they were meant to live beyond a few decades. She knew by instinct that the conclusion was somehow off, but she could think of no other explanation. 'Immortal...' - the word he had used to describe her ran through Ayla's head and an ever so slight frown creased her brow. She was sure she had heard it somewhere before, but it was as though she had not heard it spoken and had instead connected it to something else.

As she thought she let her gaze wander to the mother who now, quite obviously, was also a stranger to the onyx male, and she intensly studied her protective stance and curious looking pup. It was at that moment that the young wolf decided to prance over to Ayla and bluntly announce that she thought the white wolf's actions strange. Ayla drew back a little at the pup's advance - the first sign of any sort of weakness she had shown in front of these wolves - before quickly shaking it off and glaring at the tiny canid.

"Oh yeah? Well so do you," Ayla retorted before she could even think about her words and the possible reaction of the mother. Hot headed and ears folded back, annoyed at the strangeness of the situation to her, the snowy female then swiveled back around to face the male; "And you still haven't told me your name yet!"

Her muscles now growing taut with confusion and agitation, though her face remaining an emotionless mask, she couldn't help but wish Logan was by her side as she waited for someone to answer her.

Charity was surprised to see Nakia walk up to the light female and proceed to speak to her. It completely threw the mother off and she was left staring blankly at her daughter. Ayla's harsh words spurred her into action however. Rushing forward she stood nose to nose with the female. "How dare you talk to her like that!" she growled, her motherly instincts kicking in full flare. Her teeth gleaming thanks to her curled lips. "You'd better learn to watch what you say, Missy. Otherwise you may end up without a jaw to talk with." Her yellowy grey orbs flashed brightly with anger.

Nakia was a little surprised by the reaction she got from the female. Her ears flew back and her brows wrinkled, her overall appearance becoming annoyed. "At least I know what I am!" she barked back. Her mother's deep growl and fierceness came to show itself standing up for her. "Yeah, you tell'er Mummy! Put that fiery gal in her place!" she barked, getting a little excited. Looking over at the black male she wondered what his name was, since the female had asked. Trotting over to him, standing right next to his paws, she craned her neck up to look into his face. "What's your name?" she asked, "And how did you know hers?"

Obsidian drifted back and forth on his paws as the white alabaster fae narrowed her eyes at him. He gave a snort to her, showing how arrogant he can be as well. He swished his tail lightly swatting her in the cheek, returning to his Rock which he sat upon dominantly.

"I'd say your at least thirty," the charcoal male swung his head to the silvery cream wolf and her pup. He smiled faintly chuckling a little and spoke softly and calmly "You are too kind, too too kind" he paused, as if having to remember his own age "I am Forty Six years old, if you so do wish to know, I may sound old, but am nothing compared to some wolves that lie around this realm". Obsidian shifted about finding a comfortable position to sit.

The Brat Prince watched the Fiery Ayla as she snapped to the young pup. Obsidian got to his paws and shook his cape furiously, 'How dare she speak to a young one like that'. The charcoal male was about to jump back down and have a word to her, but the mother had already beaten him to it. The onyx male zoned out as the mother yelled at Ayla, watching her pup join in the battle, before coming over to him.
"What's your name? ....And how did you know hers?" Obsidian smiled to the pup drawing his attention on her. He outstretched a paw and began to talk My name is Obsidian young one, I was told when I was much younger that I would run into three immortals, but didn't tell me that you would be here, What is your name, my child?" He spoke ever so softly and calmly, taking a liking to this pup.

He watched as the two Fae's continued arguing and had enough of it. He let out a roaring growl, to tell them to cut the nonsense out and stop acting childish. He swayed his tail and sat again, looking down to the pup with a pleasant smile.

Nakia smiled sweetly up at the dark male, her blue eyes revealing a twinkling gleam in her eyes. Her small tail wagged lightly. "Hello Mister Obsidian," she said sweetly, her sassy nature hidden for the time being. "My name is Nakia, it means unconquerable," she informed him. Nakia tilted her head interested in what he was saying. Ignoring his yell at the others she questioned, "How did the other wolf know that you would meet others? Wait you said three, where is the other one?" Looking around she couldn't see another wolf in the grass. Turning back to the male, she barked, "They're not here."

The sharp growl that came from the black male alarmed Charity. So much so that she backed up a few paces. Looking over at him she saw that Nakia had struck up a conversation with the male. How could she? He's a stranger. I've told her time and again to not talk to strangers. Walking over there she looked at the male sternly. "What is it you wish? If it is nothing, my daughter and I will take our leave."

Obsidian smiled at the curious pup, they certainly were marvellous beings, and this pup especially seemed sweet and very intriguing. She had greeted him with manners above Ayla's and had introduced herself as Nakia and told of her being unconquerable. He always loved the curiosity of the young ones. "The other Wolves are a lot older than I young one, With their age comes power and with their power, they can some what make out the happenings of the future. This is how I was informed of your mother and Ayla, and a third wolf" The Charcoal male had no problem in explaining himself.

He watched as the creamy silver Fae seemed to hate her daughter talking to him.
"I mean you nor your pup any harm, And I do wish for you to stay, It is the middle of summer and the calescent weather proves to much for one to handle, let alone your young one" He replied to the Creamy white fae, studying her, wishing that she would stay and same with her pup. It was destiny

Nakia wagged her tail, seeing that she was so easily getting the male to trust her. If only all wolves were this easy, she thought. She looked up at her mother, trying to get them to leave. Shaking her head the pup listened attentively to the male's explanation, "You're the oldest wolf I've met. You're far older than Mummy and Daddy. Me too." After Obsidian spoke to her mother she jumped up and down in front of Charity. "Mummy, Mummy, please can we stay! I'll be ever so good. Oh please can we stay," she barked excitedly. Stopping and looking at Ayla she scowled, "If you stay you'd better be nice to me!" Finishing with her tongue poking out. Turning back to Obsidian her face changed back to it's sweet smile. "I've never heard the word, cles-sant, before." she struggled to get the long word out.

Charity listened to the male warily. It was a hot time at the moment but she and Nakia had made it through some hot weather before. Nothing they couldn't handle. Thinking it over she was interrupted by Nakia. The excitable pup made her chuckle. Even her cheekiness was tolerated, by the mother, this time. Her tail swished back and forth. "I guess we can stay then. But you'd better live up to that promise of being good." Leaning down she nuzzled Nakia as the pup asked about calescent.

Obsidian sat heavily on his haunches, yawning widely revealing those sharp devices for killing. He smiled faintly at Nakia's comment of being old, he sure didn't feel it though. He drifted away day-dreaming as the pup had begged her mother for them to stay, and he was glad they did. Laying down outstretching his long limbs enjoying the refreshing feel of the shade, his salmon pink tongue still slightly lolling out to the side of his maw.

His ears flinched coming back to reality hearing the pups question as she made her way up to him again. Obsidian playfully rolled over onto his back and pawed at the pup buoyantly.
"Calescent my young one means blistering heat, and very hot conditions". The charcoal male laughed and kept pawing at the pup from laying on his back.

Ayla watched in silence as Nakia, then the female, then Obsidian snapped at her, all seeming to be aggrivated by her presence. Her ears folded back; that was the exact reason she hated being around others, they were all so sensitive and easily annoyed and they always seemed put off by her sharp tongue, well almost all of them were, she could still remember a few wolves who had found her worthy of their company. Shaking her head free of the thoughts of her past, she returned her gaze to the others, knowing that they had all had reasonably comfortable lives compared to her own, hence the fact that they were unaccustomed to her defensiveness. She was unwilling to grow close to anyone, let alone these strangers who didn't want her there anyway.

"Well, it seems that you three will make quite a happy little unit here, and seeing as we'll likely be living for quite awhile, if what you say is true, then I guess I'll make it more pleasant for you by taking my leave. At least you got your little prophecy right, Obsidian. You saw me, so now I feel no obligation to be here." Though her words were not quite as harsh as before, there was still a definite sharp quality to them as she did not trust the strangers.

She got to her paws in one fluid movement, slight silver highlights visible through her fur as it shifted like glimmers of starlight before disappearing back into the snowy colouring. Giving each of the three wolves a curt nod, she turned and trotted back out into the sunlight, barely noticing the searing touch of the cracked earth beneath her paws. She didn't care that they'd think she was sulking or being rude and arrogant, very few bothered to get to know her other half anyway so she never bothered. Her hot-headedness was a much easier, commitmentless facade to keep up then her deeper, light-hearted manner.

"I'll be sure to have disappeared without a trace by morning," she called over her shoulder, quickening her pace into a light jog under the swealtering sun.

Obsidian shot to his paws at the words of Ayla, leaving playing with the young pup for another time. The charcoal male stood sentry watching her disappear back out into the sunlight. He broke into a quick loping pace after her, he would not wait another forty years for the prophecy to be fulfilled! It had been hell for him, spending forty years on ones lonesome only to attack and kill any that wandered onto the territory that were not immortals, but now the story had changed, if all the immortals where present he would be set free and able to change the mere mortals into immortals.

He caught up with her in a few brief gallops, panting heavily as his coat attracted the rays from the sun. He was no way near exhausted from the run, he never really liked the sun much.
"Ayla..Ayla!" The charcoal male shouted to her as he caught up beside her, whimpering like a lost pup "Please, don't leave... I can't... never mind, you have to stay please! I'm sorry that we have not been welcoming thus far, Please let us start over and I'll explain to you, everything I know" Obsidian pleaded to her. It was the last resolution he could come up with and the one that would put him in the upmost danger. Though that hadn't worried him as much as spending another four wolf lifetimes in an eternal imprisonment.

He panted briefly and licked his lips, Obsidian's lemony eyes pleading for her to stay, his tail wagged happily and as a sign of hope that she would not leave.

Ayla slowed her pace a little, though she did not fully halt her stride, and gave Obsidian a confused look. No one had ever begged her to do something, not unless her teeth were only seconds away from killing them, and as far as she knew she wasn't killing the black male. Frowning, he thought his words over and instinctively rejected them for she had not been around wolves in years, not since she had been travelling with - she forced her mind away from the subject and to something else. She muttered something unitelligible and melded with a curse under her breath as she shot another glance at the black male who was obviously not enjoying being under the sun. She was uncomfortable with the feeling of its hot rays on her back, far more used to snow, but she did not seem to be struggling as much as Obsidian. She knew that even without the heat she could run, outsprint him out of this valley and be able to return to her life as a loner...

"Fine," she huffed, whirling around to face him [almost crashing into him in the process] and sitting down hard, right in the middle of the grass. "Start over."

Knowing that he wasn't enjoying the heat she made herself comfortable, looking him directly in the eyes as she waited. If there was one easy way to test if he really wanted her there, this was it.

[OOC: haha, Ayla is so mean ^^"]
