"Yes, I am quite good at defending myself."

Flint snickered at the wolf, He wasn't liking her smart comments so far. Though he would deal with them for now, patience was one of his many virtues. He sat and leant back on his haunches, as he studied the wolf once over again. He gave a bored yawn, his luminous green eyes watching the wolf at all times. "An Ohtar rank will suit you perfectly then, You will not be the only one, having to defend the pack. But you will be one of the main ones." he muttered as he looked to the young pup now sitting on Anat's tail. That pup was so devilish. He smiled to the young pup as she began to speak;

"I saw Miss Ayla catch a hare like that.... What are all the ranks we have?"

Flint shifted around a bit to face the young pup, he lowered his head and spoke softly
"Well young Nakia, we have many Ranks. Cora, which is the leads, your mother, myself, Wyatt and Miss Ayla. Then we have the Noldo, they are elders, but we will only have few of them, then there are Minya, the pack's seconds, then the Nelde, third in command. The Ohtar, are the warriors, the Vasa, the hunters, The Edhel, the scouts, the Fallaner, the healers, the Di'Thang are the omegas and you rank, one of the most important! The Nessa"

He smiled hoping that he made the pup happy by calling her rank, one of the most important. His tail flinched behind him, where was Bellatrix? He looked around, unable to see the female, she had not told of where she was going, and the dark male started to become concerned for the pack member. He also had wanted to announce to her that she was to be the Nelde of the pack, the first, third in command. He stood up turning around in a brief circle, still unable to see the female, let alone scent her out.

Flint let out a beckoning howl wondering where Bella had gotten to, he didn't mind when members took a walk, he would of just liked to know where they had gone, just incase anything went wrong, or was going wrong.

Anat watched the male carefully. The name of the rank did not ring a familliar tone with her, but guessing at the way that it was described, she would be a guard of some sort. Slowly, she nodded her head as the ranks were described to the young pup. "Would you get off of my tail, please?" she asked, trying not to snap. It appeared she would not be alone with guarding this pack, though she did prefer the alone-ness of being alone. Not allowing her sigh to come out, she gazed at the male who had appeared to be leader. What else would be requested of her now?

Charity soon drifted off into the land of dreams. The lack of worries that usually surrounded her were gone, having dissipated on the wind. She no longer had to care for a young pup all on her own. Feed and protect her. It lifted a huge weight off the mother's shoulders. A pack was a safer place for a mother and pup to be.

Her mind drifted through many memories. Good ones and bad ones. Ones of her deceased mate Herve and her pups. Also ones of her unhappy puphood so many years ago. Across her years of travel she had met many wolves, those with fiery personalities and those much quieter like a river, some like the soft snow and some like a happy flower. Each one along the way was different. Different pasts, different hopes, different dreams and yet all wolves. Each one seeking something, like Charity. Her Immortality made her no different from them in that respect. This she realised as she slept.

Nakia listened intently as Flint told her of the many ranks. Cora... Noldo... Minya... Nelde... Ohtar... Vasa...Edhel...Fallaner... Di'Thang and Nessa of which she was one. The most important rank! She certainly agreed with that. The brown pup sat beaming at this while he looked around worried. She was only turned back into the world as he howled. Jumping up she lifted her small voice to his adding in her own high pitched howl.

Her voice going quiet she looked at Anat. Her tail poked up dominantly. "It wasn't very comfy anyway," she replied flatly trotting off to sit away from the female.

The young female ambled into the area, the energy drained from her body in the fright. Her head hung lowly, the adrenalin had worn off and the effects of the wild sprint were starting to initiate. Tail dangling lifelessly between her legs, the canine felt her growing muscles tie into cramp-like knots, causing her to saunter forth with drawn-out, almost mechanical movements to avoid severe pain

Glancing around with soft brown eyes, Xhosa realised she had entered a lush, overly-vegetated area. A short distance away lie a large cave, which looked promising for some needed recooperation. Birds called unnervingly from tree to tree, a blissful, carefree song twined with varying sweet notes.

As the fae's head dipped back down to conserve energy while trudging towards to the shelter, she did not think to be in any way cautious. Fronds brushed her coat, momentarily clinging to it before slipping away gracefully along the fit curves of her length.
'No one would live here,' the tan female thought, oblivious to the slightly-hidden resources, 'There is nothing to survive on.'

Pushing onwards, Xhosa drew deep, air-intaking breaths through her dilated nostrils. Only when several mixed foreign scents of other canines filled her nose did she realise her childish assumption.

ANAT

The grey female lifted her tail to swing it about aimlessly once she felt the weight of the pup unburden it. It was a relief to be able to move it, even if the young one had a bit of a superior attitude. Anat snorted, not looking at the smaller being.

      "It wasn't very comfy anyway."

Anat rolled her eyes, gazing around for something to do that did not include being pestered by the young Nakia. Surely there was someone here who was worth the effort of getting to know. It hadn't been this hard at home. Where she knew everybody, knew about the plots that went about to overthrow the leaders. The plots that had never gone through because the leaders had eyes and ears everywhere. The grey fae missed those times vaguely. Out on her own, she had learnt that the world was as cruel as those who atttempted to overthrow their leaders. There was no escaping it, so what was the use of making enemies here? There was no use of it, and there lied her answer.

For too long, she had sat on this spot, waiting ever so patiently as Charity had requested of her. Did she have to get permission to move? The idea sickened her. If so, what kind of twisted pack had she just allowed herself to join the ranks of? Was it better to run and never return? No. The firm determination to have a home stood firm within her. Tooo many packs that she had encountered had never even considered that she was a lone wolf, looking for the happiness that everyone looked for. They only saw a ragged and tattered female who possibly had borne the runt of her litter. The sickly one who would bring famine and disease to their home.

Never did they look to the the shining hope in her eyes. The stunning clarity. Maybe she had been the runt, but she had been the only survivor so far. Illnesses seemed to not affect her like they did others. She would get a bellyache for a day, and then it would go away. Surviving was what she did. What she had always done. And now, she figured that she could help others survive, too.

Taut. That's how she felt herself to be, tensed. Unable to move without feeling the strain from her muscles coil up, constantly sending shock ways of pain up her leg then scattering throughout her form with the slightest of movements that she made.
Bella breathed steadily through her nostrils. Her ocher eyes averted from her own injury that began growing sickly with a foul oder that slowly polluted the air around her.

Weakness. An easy target. That's how other predators that compete against her kind would see it. The stench would lure them in, causing them to prowl closer thn before for an easy target. She wasn't in much condition to move, making it much easier for ever a young cougar that has barely come into it's full years of life to make a quick meal of her.
Irritated by the foul stench that slowly made her gag she flung her numb leg into the down stream water, allowing it to caress her leg, giving some soothing relief from the burning pain. The water for the least, would cover her stench for a while, taking it downstream to the vast plains for those of whom it lured, away from the pack.
The tight long leaf that she had tied around her leg just a few inches above her injury was slowly coming loose with the water's soft splashes, not being able to contain the poison in her leg for too long before it spreads.

Her soft ears gently swerved around, the fairly clear howl of the Cora, Flint wove through the trees and rang deeply into her ears along with a higher pitched almost squeal from a younger canine, an adolescent; Nakia.
Bella groaned softly, her head weighed down on the ground, not being able to attempt even the softest howl in reply to the two. Though not being able to howl to the others, that didn't seem to catch her attention as much rather than a scent that gently wafted past the trees. The scent of another canine within the boundaries of the pack was what she was focused on, a possible threat?

Flint trudged through the forest, continuing to scent the air in search of his pack mate. His streamlined body wove easily through the trees and heavy brush. Too many times he had moved through this forest, knowing every point of her beauty and her dangers. This forest, even though seemingly luxurious was deadly. Many scents filled Flint's nose, including that of venom. The brute's lips curled in a snarl, he hated snakes, his flanks twitching as he heard the spine tingling slithering between leaves. He paused. Lowered his head and followed the trail of which it came, It was leading to the river. His keen nose continued to twitch, as he soon picked up the scent of Bellatrix's blood. The immortal's ears perked, and a growl rumbled in his throat, the slow trotting gait soon became a long loping motion. Hearing the sound of the creek, Flint figured that Bellatrix would be in it. A secondary scent soon filled his nostrils, that the scent of a pup, a lone.

Flint continued his way to his injured pack mate for now. She was priority. Leaping into the river, Flint grasped his jaws around Bellatrix's scruff and pulled her from the river, laying her to the shore. He then dashed back into the river diving his head into the water. His jaws chomped around seaweed, and other plants that lay beneath the surface of the water. Lifting his head and shaking the water from his ears, he continued to chew up the plants into a paste. Rushing to Bellatrix's side he put them on the wound, it sealing the punctures.
"Stay there, and don't move" Flint barked to Bellatrix. He ran off into the forest in search of some flowers. Those that would heal, and get rid of the venom. It wasn't long before he came across the pink beauties. As they could heal, they could easily kill. Flint gently broke the stems and carried them back to where Bellatrix was.

His body again moving swiftly through the forest, his paws floating over the ground, as he move with ease. His luminous green eyes alert for danger, and his ears pricked to attention. He soon arrived back to Bellatrix's side. He placed the flowers in front of her.
"Eat these Bellatrix, they will heal you" he spoke sincerely, as his heart raced, hoping that his pack member would. His tail curled to his side as he nudged the flowers to her nose. Sitting and waiting for her to eat them.

A startled squeak pushed its way up the small fae's trachea as the adult male raced past. Backing into the scrub, the pup's heart pounded, surprised by the sudden appearance. Slowly she placed a paw forth on the moist earth, taking a slow and tentative step towards to opening in the vegetation.

As her lithe body was about to appear on the sodden path, the large canine sprinted past again, causing another, slightly louder, squeal to erupt from Xhosa's throat. Becoming disorientated the young creature intended to run in the opposite direction, but ended up galloping towards Flint and Bellatrix, obliviously.

She felt herself being dragged from the water before settled onto the shore. Feeling like a lifeless doll who couldn't even move if she wanted to.
Once she was placed down, her dulled eyes were able to make out the figure of Flint out fo the corner, noticing that he helped put something on her injury. She glanced at him for a moment before seeing him fly off into the forest before coming back a short while after with some small flowers that he said she had to eat in order to fel better.
Her eyes settled onto the small flowers briefly. Eat. That's what she had to do, a simple thing to help feel better. She tried to inch towards them but struggled for a moment, nearly energyless, it felt impossible to do but managed and slowly began chewing on the closest flower by her.
Once she swallowed she looked on to the few others left but didn't budge to eat, her sight shifted towards the undergrowth and trees that lined the forest, her delicate ears quivering back and forth gently, catching the small but growing sounds of paw steps coming.

Nakia wrapped her puppy tail around her body. Pack life wasn't as thrilling as she'd hoped it would be. In fact it was turning out to be rather boring. At least with only her and her mum and walking, everyday there was somewhere new to see, another place to explore. Hey, that's what I'll do I'll go exploring! The young pups ears pricked excitedly. Looking over at her mother, she was satisfied that the creamy female was still sleeping. Getting up she quickly moved off in a trot, to follow after Flint, curious as to where he had disappeared to.

Her nose sniffed at the ground. She was still learning about the many scents that flooded her nose but she had learnt how to track. So filling her nose with Flint's scent she trotted off at a brisk pace behind him. As the scent got stronger, many others filled her nose. Of wolves and sickness.

Nakia became undecided on whether she wanted to proceed or not. The smell of wolf blood was not one she was fond of, as it brought back flashes of memories. The only ones she had of her siblings. Sucking in a deep breath she went forward, and soon saw the warm brown female lying by the bank of the river. It was Bellatrix. The pup wondered what was wrong with the wolf but dared not venture further, her ears pinned back against her neck. The air seemed rather tense.

It was then that she actually took note of more paw-steps. Nakia's blue eyes with tints of gold coming through, searched for whatever it was that was coming.

Charity stirred from her slumber, her eyelids fluttering open. She breathed in slowly wondering where she would be right then if things had been different. Disliking the heavy feeling hanging over her she rose to her paws and shook out her coat. Sitting back she looked around. It seemed that only Anat was at the den.

Having no one else to talk to, Charity went over to hopefully make friends with the female. "Hello, Anat, how goes things?" she said brightly sitting down beside the grey wolf. "What happened to everyone anyway?" Her yellow-grey eyes looked around. It was then she realised that a certain someone was missing. "Nakia?" she whispered. "Nakia," she barked, calling out to her young one. A reply didn't come, a small pup did not burst from the bushes. The mother began to get worried. "Anat, where did Nakia get to?" her eyes betraying her fear.

ANAT

Ears perking at a voice aimed to her attention, Anat's ears swivelled to meet the direction of the source of the noise. A typical greeting. Nothing too suspicious. Indeed, the den site was quiet, Anat herself had watched Flint dart off after something - Someone? - in a rather worried state. Others had meandered about, not really pulling the grey female's attention. The young pup, Nakia, had wandered off into the woodlands without her mother. Dangerous? Perhaps.

As if her thoughts had been in sync with Charity's worry, the mother took notice of her daughter's absence. When the spotlight of upmost importance was put on Anat, she faltered. Charity was genuinely worried about the rambunctios pup. Why wouldn't she? Charity is her mother Anat thought. It was that thought that cleared her head. "I believe that Nakia went in that direction into the woodlands," she stated, pointing with her tail. Did Charity wish for company on her search for her daughter? the fact that the leader's emotions were being betrayed to a near stranger was enough to coax Anat into aiding the mother if she was asked for the help.

Theron

A small, dark shadow lurked in the deeper corners of the large den, flicking around like a phantom over the stone floors. Paws cushioned by thick layers of puppy fur were almost silent against the ground as the so called phantom circled a second, sleeping figure. In the very dim light that only barely managed to make it's way through minescule cracks in the stone structure, a wicked grin could be seen spreading it's way across his lips as he stalked closer to the 'prey'.

"Hiyaaa!!" the wolf pup squealed as he launched himself at his sister, small maw wide open as he grabbed her velveteen ear, chewing lightly on it. His tail whipped out behind him in a furious wag as he better positioned himself to properly pin her under his larger weight for when she unhappily awoke.

--

Ayla

A small smile managed to upturn the corners of Ayla's lips as she watched her pups play, a glimmer of pride visible in her proud but tired eyes as she watched her son 'attack' his sister. She had very few memories of her own siblings, and the few she could recall besides their tragic slaughter were somewhat like this, full of playful innocence, but it pained her too much to think too far back.

She noted that their growing size meant they'd be able to leave the den soon, and that also meant they'd need names so that she could somehow introduce them properly to the pack. She'd had a few ideas, but names were special to her, so she took her time to think about it.

~ Flint ~

It was clear to Flint that Bellatrix was truly 'out of it', he gave a slightly annoyed sigh, as he lowered his muzzle to the ground pushing the flowers to the female again. She had eaten one, but she needed to consume the three of them. He gave a slight snort to Bellatrix to make sure that she obeyed the command, she would not live otherwise. His long tail flicked behind him as his thoughts winded over the previous two yelps he had heard.

The first being him going to Bellatrix and the second going for the flowers, and coming back again. He suspiciously put his blunt nose to the air and inhaled the forests intoxicating scents, there was the scent of a pup in the forest, one that seemed to be a lone, as it didn't seem to be Nakia's scent. Curiously the brute got to his paws and padded in its general direction. But instead the scent came to him, his luminous eyes searched the bushes, and found a small golden coloured pup. A truly rare colour. His ears flicked as he stepped to the pup, a comforting smile plastered over his maw.

"Hello there young one, where are your parents? Hmm?" he spoke softly as he lowered his head to that of the pups height. The obsidian male's long black tail swinging behind him in a friendly fashion.

--

~ Anella ~

Anella had been sleeping peacefully, her white pelt illuminated the place she slept. Her ears continued to twitch as she dreamed on, running through pastures and plains, playing with daisies and rolling in their pollens. Though her dreams didn't last. Her boisterous brother was always 'attacking' her, and she wasn't fussed on it. He had pounced on her, causing Anella to jerk to her tiny paws quickly. She glared at her wicked brother, 'Why can't he let me sleep peacefully' she thought as she continued to glare at him. She knew what was coming next, it always had, he was going to try and pin her to the ground.

Though this wasnt going to happen today, she was over being pinned and harassed by him. She pulled her tiny lips back in an impeccable snarl towards him, her tail curled high over her back as a deep pup like growl, though remaining threatening rumbled through her tiny throat.
"Will 'ya stop that brother! I've had enough of you pouncing on me! I'm a lot smaller than you, it hurts!" she barked, before returning to her snarl. She knew that he wasnt going to understand it, so Anella stood posed, waiting for him to launch his attack so she could fight back.

As the large male approached the trembling figure of the young pup, it opened its' jaws in a vain attempt to growl and scare the canine off. Instead of a threatening snarl erupting from her throat with force, a pitiful, barely audible, squeak rose in her neck, releasing itself to hang hopelessly in the air. The fae's small canines clicked together quietly as her maw shifted quickly, attempting to at least answer the obsidian-coated wolf.

While the pup talked, she was also rather distracted by another mature creature, who was obviously ill and rather distressed. Xhosa's ears flickered with curiousity, watching dancing beams of light illuminate the two wolves' pelts, the powerful light streaming down to bounce of the glossy fur. The slightly decayed leaf litter scattered about seemed to almost absorb the sunlight, making them have a serene, glowing appearance.

Realising Flint was still waiting for her answer, the female parted her jaws again, this time in a more controlled, calm way. Looking straight into his lemony orbs, the pup stuttered.
"I... I'm... Uh... I'm Xhos... I'm Xhosa," The fae continued, looking up at the dense-furred brute. "Um... I don't really know. I don't... know how I got here either."

Xhosa sat so she could peer up at Flint easier, without craning her neck to such a vicious degree. Her head tilted to the left enquiringly, one of her ears flopping over comically for a moment, before straightening up. Rather boldy, gaining confidence by the second, the fae questioned him curiously. "Who are you?" Leaning to the right, her head still tilted, Xhosa directed her gaze to the female by the river. Vaguely noticing the air had a slight chill to it, and the rays of light were not as strong as they were previously, the young creature continued her 'interrogation'. "Who's that?"

[Urgh, I'm hopeless .n.]

Charity looked to Anat, her breathing becoming more rapid as her worry kicked into full gear. As the grey female pointed off in a direction the worried mother took off almost immediately barking, "We've got to find her! My only daughter!" Oh, how could I have fallen asleep? I should have been watching her! she berated herself, knowing that if anything happened to her daughter that she would not be able to go on. That pup was the one reminder to Charity of all that had been right in the world.

Her throat grew tight at the thought of anything having happened to her dear Nakia.

Nakia watched Flint, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. He went over to the bushes. She couldn't see what he was talking too but from the way he lowered his head to look down at it and said young one, the brown pup knew it was not an adult he was speaking to. Trotting over to his side she saw a golden coated pup, a few months older than her. It seemed to be trying to stammer out it's name.

Nakia tilted her head curiously at this one, a snort threatening to realise the air in her lungs in disgust at the female pups fear. The bold pup stood in front of the golden one named Xhosa, so she said, and with her tail raised high, tried to look into the others eyes, despite the size difference. "He is one of the leaders of my pack," she informed the female. "And the female is a member of it. What are you?" She ended in a bit of a sneer.

Theron

Theron's ears folded back at for a moment at his sister's sudden outburst, a single, questioning brow raising in a similar fashion to the way his mother's did. It was though, only for a moment, and within seconds the grin returned to his face as he gave her another nip on the ear, depthless green eyes glimmering in amusement. "Haha, sister, you're always so funny! It's not like I can help it if you're small" he grinned, nudging her with his forepaw.

It seemed though, that his short, pup-like attention span got the better of him as he found himself leaving his sister's side and wandering over to his mother.
"When do we get to go outside?" he asked curiously, ears perked and eyes bright with expectation. Despite this look though, in all truth he didn't expect much, for he had asked this question close to every hour for the past while and every time Ayla gave an evasive answer. He didn't exactly know what 'outside' was, but from his mother's stories it sounded rather exciting and he desperately wanted to see it for himself.

--

Ayla

Ayla continued to smile as she watched them play, her heart swelling with pride as she watched her daughter stand up to her brother. Names. She had to give them names. She began to think of a few options when her son padded over, a spring in his step as he asked his usual question. She was about to give him one of her usual answers when she found herself questioning why they shouldn't be allowed out, after all, they were of what she had heard to be the right age. She gave them both a once over, deciding that she'd check with Charity first, seeing as the female seemed to know much more about pup-rearing than her.

"Stay here and you both might just be able to go outside." she commanded with a small smile, before turning her back to them and trotting through the maze of tunnels to the entrance to the ruins. She pursed her lips, ready to make some witty comment considering she had made little contact with the others since the birth of her pups, only to find herself almost alone in the small clearing. Her ears perked as she saw only one wolf other than herself, a female she didn't know standing at the edge of the trees. Her hackles rose instinctively as she trotted over to the fae, her fire-like eyes lit with the determination of a warrior. After scrutinising the other upon her advance though, she found that she vaguely recognised the female from one of her short trips outside, and Charity's scent seemed to be freshly surrounding her.

Instead of just following the trail, partially from the subconcious instinct to not leave her pups too far behind, she eyed the other wolf, the fire in her gaze turning to a less harsh smoulder as she sensed they meant no harm. She got straight to the point, bluntly asking,
"Alrightly, who are you and where are the others?"

The young fae's head and upper body snapped around as a pup, a few months younger than her, appeared in her wide-range of vision. Xhosa's tail flipped about, similar to a ferocious whiplash, as the smaller canine intruded on her comversation. As the young Nessa demanded to know what she was, the female's head tossed back haughtily.

The corners of her lips pulling back slightly to reveal gleaming teeth, Xhosa replied, in a rather authorative tone.
"Why should I tell you?" The tan female's orbs flashed. "I mean, after all, you are so miniscule. I believe the question I should ask you is what you are pretending to be," Her soft brown eyes almost sparking with anger, the fae pushed on, heedless of possible consequences. "You obviously can't fight your own battles without someone to back you up." Xhosa stole a glance towards Flint as she emphasised parts of her sentences, expecting to see fury flaming in his lemon-lime iris.

The pup was being quite blunt, taunting the other young creature as she thrust forth the words with the sting of venom. Despite her intense concentration on the other creatures, Xhosa noticed they carried various scents of other wolves on their coats, most of them blurred together but each containing a singular, unique smell in the midst of it all. One was strong upon Nakia, an adult female who had obviously been in close contact with the pup, and often too. As well as this, the fae's nostrils intook the lingering scents of other mature canines and a couple of fainter, more innocent smells entwined with the majority of the others. It was a bazaar of delights for Xhosa's flaring nose.

Refocusing, a set of determined, pride-filled chocolate eyes met an opposing set of blue. The fae could see something withheld in those orbs, something that had obviously not been spoken about often. There was an intriguing connection the pup felt, staring into the pools that were Nakia's eyes. Suddenly, the connection was shattered as Xhosa's acute hearing picked up some distressed calls from another wolf, the female's ears swivelling quickly to capture and retain the sounds for as long as possible.

After watching Bellatrix wander off deeper into the wood, Basile sighed and trotted off closer to the dens. She had heard the howl of Flint and then more recently Nakia in the direction of where Bellatrix ran off. She was worried, but she trusted Flint to handle whatever trouble there may be and went back to her self-assigned duty.

There were many scents now and it overwhelmed Basile. With her nose pointed to the skies, she felt tense and threatened with all the unknown scents lingering around the den. She could see a grey fae sitting not to far away from where she stood. Taking a cautious sniff, she knew that this was someone she hadn't met before. Her hackles raised a bit but she calmed when she noticed the other fae's demeanor, she was calm and that wasn't the behavior of an intruder wolf. Huffing, she approached the stranger, her body still tense.

She crept slowly, her only intention to memorize her scent. She was soundless, her paws barely making noise as she got closer and closer to the fae. Though she started out good, she quickly became impatient and trotted up a bit faster. Her footsteps weren't as carefully placed as before and made noise as she stepped on dead leaves and sticks.

Once she got close enough she swiftly scented around the fae, not caring how it looked. She was nervous. It seemed as though the only thing that would calm her nerves would be if all the unfamiliar scents became known to her.

She continued to scent, watching the fae's reaction with a curious yet cautious stare.

Nakia glared up at the pup. The golden tints to her eyes sparkling, angrily. How dare this Xhosa speak to her like that! Who did she think she was? A growl escaped from Nakia's throat, her lips curled back revealing her sharp teeth. This one, she did not like. She seemed rather lacking a sureness of herself is she was one minute afraid of things and then spitting out words of animosity.

Glaring at the six month old she wasn't sure what the other saw in her eyes but she did hear the sound as well. Nakia was sure it must be her mother so she would need to reply quickly. "I may be smaller than you know you insolent pup but it is you who does not know what she's getting up against. I know what I am, and I certainly know what you are not. Most importantly I certainly don't need any backup from anyone. I survived from a coyote attack single pawed, that is more than I can say about you!" Nakia continued to stare daggers at the other she-pup.

"Nakia! Nakia!" called Charity, her eyes searching the forest worriedly. Her nose led her to where Flint was confronting a six month old pup. Nakia was glaring at the other pup but Charity took no notice. She raced up to her daughter, nuzzling and licking her with relief. "Oh, Nakia I'm so glad you're safe..." she leaned back to look into Nakia's eyes, "Don't you ever go off without telling me and letting me know you're with someone ok?" she scolded before going back to showering her pup with affection.

She breathed softly, feeling the gentle breeze against her fur. Bella reached for another flower, her lips quivering, wanting to reject the plant from having to eat but sighed to Flint's orders to eat them. Taking one up she slowly chewed on it before having a hard time swallowing, pieces of the flower getting stuck along the walls of her throat.

She shivered, thinking to herself, 'How can hares eat this stuff, it's so... dry...'. Bella's tail curled up tightly beside her before flicking towards the opposite direction. Looking to the other two flowers left she nudged one softly with her snout, getting a small hint of it's yellow pollen on the tip of her nose but barely noticed.
Tearing the flower into two, she ate up one piece before waiting a short time then eating up the other half. Her ears swerved around and her gaze shifted to the small pup that Flint had went up too. Just as the small pup spoke she also noticed Nakia. An arguement between the two caused Bella's ears to flick, her head tilting slightly to side as she watched what was going on.
A small smrik formed at the corner of Bella's lips amazed by how both young pups were so bold. Her smirk dissapeared when she noticed the mother of the young Nakia appear and take her aside, ruining the young pup's stare down to the other pup.

Season Change

The days of summer are over in the Elthin Warriors Territory, days do not linger as long as they used too, nights are more stable in their weather, as the leaves of the many deciduous trees taint the floor of their forest home. The days are no longer so warm, but the sun doth peer through the clouds shining impeccably with a cool breeze to assist it. Small fragments of the cold winter ahead were upon them, it would not be long before the cold depths would reach the pack. Snakes, and lizards have departed the forest for warmer areas, some herds of deer, and smaller mammals have also migrated. The elk and moose remain, leaving plenty of food for the pack.

~ Flint ~

Flint looked to Xhosa as she introduced herself, stuttering as she did. His eyes focused on the pup, remaining calm and friendly. He watched as she sat, allowing herself to see him better. Mimicking her motion the dark male sat also, his tail curled to his side as he listened to the young pup, she was young but not as young as Nakia. As he began to zone out in this perfect paradise Xhosa questioned who he was. His ears flicked as he lowered his head to focus on the pup

The brute was about to speak when Nakia burst out of no-where. His ears perked at the two arguing pups, his mind raced as to how to stop them arguing as they did.

Arguing, it was what pups did well right? he thought as he tried to remember, as it was so long ago when he was just a pup. His memory came back in small fragments, he did remember the arguing with his siblings. Arguing over immortality. That was it.

Casting his attention back to what was in front of him he, didnt growl but had said sternly
"Nakia, please, there is no need to argue with new-comers." He allowed a stern glance to the young pup, showing that he was slightly disappointed in her actions, It wasn't long after that, that her mother had come to her side. He chuckled lightly and turned to face Xhosa.

"My name is Flint, Sorry about Nakia, she is the same to all strangers. You have no idea how you came by here? Child! You must of had parents some where along the line! I am the leader of this pack, along with three others, if you wish, you can stay with us." His voice had risen towards the middle when he spoke, before dimming down with a light chuckle. He continued to sit, watching Charity deal with Nakia to his side. The dark brute watched the pup, Xhosa, awaiting a reply from her.

~ Anella ~

Anella only growled as her brother only mocked her attempt at scaring him off. She recieved a nudge and a nip to the ear. She growled and grumbled as the young female moved to the back of the den, wrapping herself up in the sticks, and leaves, seeming to disappear underneath them. She muttered as her brother questioned if they could go outside.

Who'd want to go outside? she had everything she needed here, a warm bed, food, and plenty of room. The young female huffed as her mother disappeared, outside. She dreadded that place, outside, what ever it may be. Snuggling down in amongst the nest, she soon returned to her sleep.

Theron

Theron's ears pressed forward in excitement as his tail wagged frantically, disbelief crossing his features at his mother's words. He was actually going outside. Outside! When his mother left his jaw hung loose in a comical grin as he began to race around the den, muscles pumping with excitement. A joyous laugh escaped his parted jaws as he took a flying leap, landing atop his sister and rustling the leaves and twigs around her as he chewed her ear fondly. "Sister, sister! Did you hear!? Mother said we were going outside!!" he howled as he stepped off of her, prancing around her and wondering why she wasn't as excited as he.

He paused for a heartbeat, hardly able to keep still as he looked around the stone walls.
"I'm going to go outside now instead, I just can't wait!" he announced as he trotted back over to his sister, nudging her shoulder, "You should come with me!" he barked with a smile, his tail wagging a mile a minute. Before waiting for an answer he raced into the tunnel, paws skidding across the stone as they failed to find any kind of grip and leaving him to drift on the corners.

His jaw dropped as he caught his first glimpses of the outside world, the immensity of the sky and the giant forms of the trees taking his breath away. He only paused to take it in for a moment though before the adrenaline in his veins and the immortal strength in him sent his legs flying down the stone steps as he began to run headlong into the trees. His nose tried to untangle the intricate web of scents that assaulted his senses as he ran but it was an impossible task for his inexperienced mind. Instead he gave up and just enjoyed the rich array of smells that wafted his way, eyes closed in sheer delight at the feel of grass beneath his tiny paws and wind in his fur.

His run was cut short though when he ran into something solid and furry that caused him to fall back and roll in the earth, a small yelp coming from his jaws from the impact. He scrambled to his paws, looking up through dazed eyes as he tried to re-orient himself, eyes widening as he saw that he had run into a creature similar in size and appearance to his mother, only black [Flint]. He stepped back, dumbfounded for a moment before he managed to find his voice,
"What are you doing here?" he asked the first question that came to his mind, surprising himself when his voice came out firm and sure [for a puppy voice] and taking confidence in that he took a bold step forward, raising his ears as he awaited an answer.

Nakia wagged her tail quickly as her mother showered her with love. Her ears were perked not all the way up. Looking past her mother up a Flint, her blue eyes with tints of gold held a slightly appologetic look. He seemed to have asked the other pup to join their pack. Well she certainly won't be bossing me around!

Her attention was shifted from Xhosa to another pup that had run into Flint. Getting free from Charity's suffocating affections she approached the smaller male. "Who are you?" she asked him.

Charity kept touching and nubbing Nakia. She was so thankful that her daughter was safe. As the brown pup went over to investigate a young pup, Charity let her alone and looked over him. He was still very young, his coat still dark. Odd for this time of year. Taking in his scent she could clearly smell Ayla's scent intermingled with his. He had to be one of her pups. Looking around she tried to spot the new mother. She could be worried about him.

~ Flint ~

Flint had continued to wait for Xhosa's reply, he sat patiently smiling down on the young wolf. Though yet again the immortals thoughts began to drift off into space, nothing of which was to be remembered when and felt something run into his side.

With a startled grunt, the brute looked down to his side, seeing a young pup who had just ran into him. This place was becoming over-run with the creatures! Though the scent of Ayla covered the young male, and Flint figured that it must of been one of hers.

"What are you doing here?" it questioned him as if he had no place in this world. Flint frowned at the pup and got to his paws and looked down upon it.

"Now young one, thats no way to speak. What are you doing out of the den and where is your mother young man?" Flint spoke sternly to the young pup, as he looked down his nose at it. Though curiousity had sparked in the male, where really was its mother? And what was she doing letting her pups out to venture all on their own?

--

~ Anella ~

Anella continued to remain snug in the den, amongst the nest. She was safe from anything that may have tried to come and get her. That was she thought so, until her heavy brother pounced on her again.

"Sister, sister! Did you hear!? Mother said we were going outside!! I'm going to go outside now instead, I just can't wait! You should come with me!" Anella sighed deeply and shuffled around under all the leaves and twigs that made up the den. She shifted her way to the top, and looked around to make sure that it was safe.

Her brother was already gone. At least he was out of the way, she wanted to snuggle back down in the den, yet felt obligated and curious as to what laid outside. With a deep sigh the young pup got to her paws, and made her way to the exit. She followed her mothers scent and looked into the bright sky. Squinting and used to the darkness she felt blinded. She quickly scuttled along the ground and under the cover of a huge tree. Now she could see properly. Anella trotted around, not encountering any signs of life, though she found a nice thicket.

Studying the thicket, and knowing that her brother wouldn't be able to follow her in there, she young pup sighed in relief and crawled under it. The white pup curled itself up and continued her dreams.
