The River, A Healer's Domain River-Ho-Forest

This River is the second most sacred thing to the Elthin Warriors Pack. It is as ancient as the Caves that the Elthin Warriors dwell in. It is a sparkling torrent with mostly shallow and belly deep parts, beware though there are some spots which remain rather deep. There are a number of small and tasty fish that lie throughout the creek all year round, no danger threatens the Pack from the River as it is simply not big enough for any predators, but it makes a perfect drinking hole and a fun place to splash around in on a hot summers' day.

Flint kept his lazy loping pace through the long grass, hearing the pup not too far off behind him as she barked like crazy chasing him. The Charcoaled male whipped his head around to see her catching his six, as he did the male started to speed up slightly just enough to remain out of her reach. "Come on Nakia! Come get me!"he taunted the young pup, as his strides lengthened over the plains with ease.

Circling around he heard Ayla shout to him
"So are you just going to play around in the grass, old timer, or do you intend on showing us the actual territory?" Flint continued to double-back, as he fast approached Ayla and the others resting under the tree. As he did, the distance quickly shortened between him and Ayla and within a meter the lanky male leapt over her and slid around in a circle to face her, kicking up little dust. He chuckled, "Your only as old as you feel, young one. And when you live forever, you never grow up! he chanted happily, swishing his tail either side, sweeping the dust around him.

"Those of you, wishing to join the pack, follow me to the real territory, You may of thought this was it, but there is much beauty to be seen, my friends" He spoke more in a serious tone before heading off with a deep howl rumbling from his paws. He past the tree and headed off north to the territory his tail carried high and happily.

~ Moving to the River (Golden Plains and The River are now unlocked)

After a few hours of wandering Flint and his new pack mates soon arrived at the border-line of the plains and the forest. In doing so, they had moved out of the blistering heat and into a cool dry forest. Flint shook the chills off his spine and adjusted to its coolness, quickly. "The plains you have just been on are so tilted the golden plains, that is because, every day of the year, summer or winter they retain their golden shimmer" Turning around to look at the pack members he watched them finally catch up with tiredness dulling their eyes. Flint turned and flicked his tail to tell them to continue following him, regardless of their tiredness. Little did they know it was a test of their mental and physical strength.

His black coat matched the shadowed areas easily as the pack padded on with tired paws.
"We're almost there" Flint attempted to motivate them as he padded on, knowing this trail, repeating it day after day, for over forty years.

There was soon a break in the trees and the crystal clear sound of the slowly trickling water of the River that divided the territory and its central den. He paused at its side and inhaled its cool refreshing scent, waiting for the others to catch him up. He sat patiently and studied his reflection in the water, watching the ripples distort his face.

Nakia was tired. They had been going a long way. Right then she was being carried by Charity, hanging by the scruff of her neck. Her eyes dropped and her paws hurt. Most of her pup energy was drained. The cool only served to make her sleepier. Flint's voice seemed to be underwater to her and she didn't really understand what he said. Her ears drooped as she let out a little yawn. Her pink tongue curled out as her jaws opened wide and she made a small sound.

Charity was thankful for the coolness of the forest. It was a welcome change to the heat of the plains. Although she wasn't all that tired she was glad they were 'almost there' as Flint put it. Trotting along she saw the river. It looked beautiful. The cool clear water. The green trees surrounding it. The place was amazing. Gently placing the tired Nakia down near the bank she took a drink off the water. Quenching her thirst she looked back at Nakia. The pup had fallen asleep. She smiled at her daughter, giving her an affectionate lick on the head.

Ayla kept a steady pace as they travelled across the grasslands, still caught up in her thoughts as she tried to ignore the heavy feeling occupying her stomach, occasionally accompaied by a sharp twist or pang. She smiled a little as the cooling atmosphere of the trees engulfed her and soothed the unnatural feeling. Her ears perked as she glanced up at the towering trees, admiring the dappled green tapestry made by the canopy that seemed to hang effortlessly in the sky. She slowed her pace as the others stopped by a river, the bubbling body of water glimmering a little in the small amount of light that was able to claw its way through the dense foilage to reach the ground.

Giving a quick, cautious glance to the river, she sat down a few meters from it, ears perked ever so casually in its direction.
"Nice place." the white female mumbled, more to herself then to the others, as she shifted uncomfortably as her stomach flipped again~

Licking the leathers of his lips, Flint saw Ayla twisting and turning in discomfort, he could tell by the slight rumbling of her belly that she was hungry. His keen eyes searched the water for a fish of decent size, The tall male waded into the water slowly and cautiously, as if stepping on wire. His paws only giving the slightest of ripples and the harsh, thick pads protecting him from the sharp, and smooth pebbles and stones that lined the floor of the river. With a fast manouverment of his cunning left paw a fish was slapped from the water with ease and landed on the embankment before Ayla's paws and rumbling stomach.

Flint turned and leapt back out of the water with less gracefulness than he had originally got in with. Giving a late nod to Ayla's statement he looked to the flopping fish and stood a paw upon it, stopping its frolicking movements. His lips mouthed to Ayla 'Eat it' as he turned to look at Charity. Sitting lightly on his haunches a gaping yawn revealed pearly white fangs, protruding from his pink gums. The thick leathers of his ears twitched as he awaited the others to join them, he knew it wouldn't be long at all before they came, and before the cool chills of night accompanied them. Flint knew he had to get them to the den before such deathly chills set in and starting on his new pack. The adults would most likely be fine, just more so the pups, Nakia and Scythe he was worried about.

Aceline closed her eyes half way as she walked through the forest. Dead leaves and prickly thorns clung to her white pelt. It was time to move, new place and a new life. Her banner swayed back and forth only to pick up more foliage from the earth beneath her. The cool breeze created a mood for her, making the walk just even to bare to walk. Her ears perked at a sound of water bubbles popping on the waters surface. She made her way towards the rest of the group near the waters edge. The suns rays penetrated the waters surface, glimmering on the fish beneath the waters surface. Aceline relaxed onto her hunches as she turned towards one of the alphas. He was a brute, with a jet black pelt next to one of the other alphas. "Its beautiful" she said smiling towards the water.

Bellatrix’s burnt hazel eyes followed the group of canines who came to a halt after a short while of walking. Her velvety ears erected forward as she stopped in her steps, the scent and sound of fresh cool water hit her senses like a slap to the face.
Her silky soft tail twitched and flickered constantly as she began to feel an aching and burning dryness from within her throat, begging for a fresh drink. Her luminous eyes narrowed into slits as she snorted lightly, believing it was simply the heat playing mind tricks on her once more and ran her light pink tongue over her muzzle.
Her senses were once more triggered by the mouth-watering and tempting scent of fish until she noticed one clenched between the grips of the onyx brute’s jaws. Her eyes flickered as she constantly glanced from where the sounds of water were coming from.
Still keeping her short distance from the group she couldn’t help but utter a small yelp of joy once she saw that the heat wasn’t playing tricks on her.
Lowering her head to the water, she felt a cool droplets of water leaping at her and cling onto her muzzle and whiskers. Bellatrix began drinking her fill without much hesitation, her tail flicking in what seemed to be a wag as she was finally able to satisfy her prolonged thirst that she had carried with her since she had crossed the endless plains.

Basile trotted under the shade the trees gave. She had been chasing after something, a scent, one that she couldn't recognize. It made her curious and despite the dangers that came with following it, she continued on. Her paws sunk into the moist ground as she walked, she kept herself alert, looking for the owner of the strange scent. However, the closer she grew, the more familiar the scent became.

Her nose raised and ears perked, she now knew that the scent was that of a wolf. The scent was thick, so that must have meant there were more than one. Had she somehow intruded on another pack's territory? She hoped not. She swallowed with some difficulty and perked at the sight of water.

Slinking into the shadowy trees, she kept to the darkness. She desperately wanted a drink but did not want to provoke the other pack. She laid down, her head lying on her paws. She would wait until it was safe to drink.

Flint watched as the others seemed to come along eventually. He watched Ayla and nudged the fish to her with a paw. He looked around to the others that now surrounded him, a smile couldn't be refrained from covering his face. His lemony eyes shimmered in the dull light. His attention darted to something aside; an unfamiliar scent as well. Flint got to his paws and padded in its direction curiously. His short velvety ears perked and thick leathery pads kept him quiet through the forest, as he drunkenly swaggered along.

It wasn't long before the scent of the unfamiliar wolf was seen to him, it was a female brownish coloured wolf. Slowly he approached her, noting the fact she seemed dehydrated. Calmly he spoke, a soothing tone in his voice
"Its okay, you can stay with us if you like, it gets rather horrible out here at night. Why don't you come join us for a little while. My names Flint". Flint smiled and avoided the topic of immortality for now. He had, had enough of explaining that for one day! With that he started to swagger back to where the rest of 'his' pack lay await. He gave a sharp bark encouraging the female to follow on.

"Come on, we need to cross and get to the dens before night turns in. It gets unbelievably cold out here at night". And with his minor speech Flint, with out hesitation leapt into the water wading across to the other side.

She tensed as the brute approached her, readying herself to run. She hesitated, the wolf wasn't being agressive at all.

"Its okay, you can stay with us if you like, it gets rather horrible out here at night. Why don't you come join us for a little while. My names Flint". The brute spoke to her kindly and she sighed, letting her tense muscles relax.

"Thank You!"

Basile hopped up, hobbling over to the river's edge. She drank greedily, feeling replinished and energized. Her tail wagged lightly as she watched Flint continue on, splashing through the water. She glanced at the other wolves, her tail still wagging affectionately. 'This must be another pack' She deducted, watching as they began to follow Flint.

She turned tail and wadded through the river's water. She had heard Flint say something about cold, and that was enough to keep her with them. She wouldn't fare well in the cold weather.

Ayla's ears perked as Flint brought a fish over to her, implying that she eat it and nudging it towards her. She gave a slight nod and grateful smile, though food was the last thing from her mind as he stomach gave another nauseating twist. She gave an internal sigh of relief when he padded away to another wolf and she quickly picked up the marine creature that still gave the odd jerk of it's tail and dropped it back in the water.

Now I've let two animals go today, she thought to herself, something is definitely wrong. Her ears fell flat against her head as common sense and instinct tried to convince her what was wrong, though she still tried to deny it - surely a moment of weakness would not result in something like that.

Shaking her head to clear herself of her thoughts, she looked up to see Flint and the new wolf running across the river and to the trees on the other side. She looked skeptically at the water, hardly comforted by the fact that it appeared shallow when they crossed. Determined not to let others see her dislike for water she quickly charged in after them, relieved when she reached the far bank and quickly running to keep up~

Aceline's ears perked slightly at a sound of rustling leaves. Her small cranium turned towards the sound, it was a new wolf. She gave a warm welcoming towards the new fae as she looked towards her. Her gaze met the water, the suns rays reflecting off the waters surface onto her pelt.

A small sigh escaped her jowls as she walked towards the water. Fish swimming below the water's surface, schools of them. Aceline sat near the water's edge, her gaze still on the water. She turned her head ever so slightly, almost as if she was thinking.

She lowered her small cranium towards the water, so crisp and fresh she gulped down mouthfuls at a time. Her stomach slightly upset of no food for the past day. Drinking so much, it made her full but it did not fulfill the need for real food. Her parched throat quickly became moist once again. Without notice, she turned her gaze towards the group, who was far ahead of her. Jumping up, she splashed throughout the water towards the group. Panting heavily she made her way to the group.

Flint watched as the others gradually came through the river towards him. Noticing Ayla rush like a bull at a gate through them he got to his paws once more and gently swaggered to the den. It wasn't far now and it wasn't far from darkness. Though it would take time for the environment to cool down, Flint was taking no chances as his thick leathery peds carried him through the forest with ease. The leaf litter shuffled around his paws leaving a trail behind him, for the others to follow. It was already dark in the forest and small glimmers of the sun lasted only moments through its dips and peaks. The charcoal male's coat was now pretty much invisible amongst the darkness between the trees, his luminous lemony eyes however stood out like headlights as the new pack proceeded forth.

Charity was none too surprised when Flint brought back yet another wolf to the group. She would wait to find out the other female's name. For now Ayla had attracted her attention. The light coated female had rejected the fish. Strange... Is she off her food?

She was watching calmly as the female seemed to be confronting herself with something before going after the others. I'd better find out what's wrong with Ayla, she thought. Picking up Nakia she held her head high to keep her still sleeping pup from getting wet as she crossed the river.

Reaching the other side Charity shook her coat free of most of the water. Seeing Flint keep going she followed after him.
